Slacking off bigtime...

... though I kinda have an excuse. Ive only watched 2 films in the past 2 weeks, so not really worth updating!

No idea of date - Run Fat Boy Run. Seen this movie quite alot already, but Laura wanted to watch it so i hadda sit through it again. I say that not cause its bad, but cause watching one movie too many times definatly takes away from it. Generic enough plot, generally funny the whole way through, hilarious fight scene with Pegg and Moran and a feel good ending. 7/10

My Sister's Keeper - One of those movies whose sole purpose is to make you cry. Unfortunatly it failed miserably at this. Likeable lead character, though the girl with cancer had horribly massive lips and kinda looked like jade goody... I dont mean that cause they were both bald, Im refering to her general look.. The twist was glaringly obvious. Cameron Diaz was very hateable. However, it kept my attention throughout so it gets props for that. Im gonna go for a 5/10

Long delays between film watching due to scrubs and malcolm in the middle

10/7/09 - The Number 23 - For some reason this film gets worse everytime I see it. i think this is the 3rd time Ive watched it and it really isnt an enjoyable film when you know the plot twist the whole way through the film. Sure, its a good plot twist etc, but when a film is overly reliant on this to drive the movie, it tends to get old with multiple viewings. Take The Usual Suspects for an example. The dialogue, the characters, the action was all top notch, and by the time the twist is revealed, it is just the icing on the cake. The Number 23, on the other hand, had none of these other things. Though it is great to see Jim Carey in any role. 4/10

Sorry bout the lack of updates, but its not cause im lazy, its cause Im not watching anywhere near the number of films I want to due to various factors ( the ones in the title and work grrrrr). Ill try to get more watched in the next few days.

Bit late on this one...

3/7/09

The Life of David Gale - This was an awesome movie. Its very rare that I come across a drama that doesnt bored the crap out of me, but this one never once got me restless and it kept me thinking the whole way throughout. Combine this with a completely unexpected ending and yet another unbelievably great performance from Kevin Spacy (must be the name..) and it really is a classic. Thats why its got the highest mark to date 9/10

The saints go marching in...

2/7/o9

The Boondock Saints - I enjoyed this movie at the time. It had likeable characters, cool action sequences and a decent plot. In particular, the way in which each crime scene was analysed alongside time switches by the FBI agent was really well exectuted and made for great watching. However, I found it difficult to understand the motivation of the two lead characters... They were killing bad people to help the innocent thrive, something which reminded me of Dexter. Yet, unlike Dexter, they didnt really seem to have any reason to do so. Sure, they had the vision at the start of the movie, but this is killing people! How could they think it is right for them to judge and kill at their leisure? Its all very contradictory. Bear in mind these are the people who set a guys ass on fire in a bar-room brawl!! Thats pretty damn evil in itself... Another plot element I didnt like was the Il Duce twist... I wont ruin it, but it seemed pretty random and thrown together. Anyway, as I said, I did enjoy this movie quite alot, despite the plot holes. 7/10

Mehhhhhhhhhhh

1/7/09

Resident Evil Extinction - After the second movie I had reasonably high hopes for this one. Unfortunatly, as the title says, it was a whole loada mehhhhhhhhh. Nothing totally awful, nothing worth a second watch. They built on the previous movie in that they added a couple more characters from the games. One of these was Claire Redfield, who I really liked in the games, but despised in the movie... So not a good job there! The other was Wesker, which answered my plea from the last movie. However, he was given a crappy, bit part role and we really didnt get to see how cool he is. Hopefully he'll be in the fourth movie and be given a much greater role and we'll see his character develop into the hate-filled, crazy supervillan we know and love! Also, where did Jill go? She was cool and added some looks which I was grateful for! Anyway, as I said, story was kinda meh, special effects were good, loads of zombie killing and crow burning. All adds up to a 5/10
