The saints go marching in...

2/7/o9

The Boondock Saints - I enjoyed this movie at the time. It had likeable characters, cool action sequences and a decent plot. In particular, the way in which each crime scene was analysed alongside time switches by the FBI agent was really well exectuted and made for great watching. However, I found it difficult to understand the motivation of the two lead characters... They were killing bad people to help the innocent thrive, something which reminded me of Dexter. Yet, unlike Dexter, they didnt really seem to have any reason to do so. Sure, they had the vision at the start of the movie, but this is killing people! How could they think it is right for them to judge and kill at their leisure? Its all very contradictory. Bear in mind these are the people who set a guys ass on fire in a bar-room brawl!! Thats pretty damn evil in itself... Another plot element I didnt like was the Il Duce twist... I wont ruin it, but it seemed pretty random and thrown together. Anyway, as I said, I did enjoy this movie quite alot, despite the plot holes. 7/10

  1. Arrr I already mentioned that. But I think it would take more motivation than that to commit mass murders. And they way they did it was ridiculous! They just took the word of the drunken and totally flawed failed mobster!
